Thanksgiving Dog Safety Tips
Thanksgiving is a time for family, gratitude, and of course – Great Food! While we enjoy our holiday feast, its important to remember that some of our favorite dishes can be harmful to our dogs.
· Avoid sharing table scraps- Turkey bones, fatty foods, onions, garlic, grapes, and chocolate can cause serious health issues.
· Keep desserts and leftovers out of reach – Sweet treats and rich foods can upset your dog’s stomach or worse.
· Create a safe, quiet space- With guests coming and going, your dog may need a calm spot away from excitement.
· Watch the doors! Excited visitors can lead to accidental escapes – make sure your pup’s ID tags and microchip are up to date.
· Keep your dog away from the hot oven when it is opened
Equine Fit For Life
Equine Safety Tips for November
As the temperatures drop and winter approaches, its important to keep your horses safe, healthy, and comfortable. Colder weather can bring new challenges, so a little extra care goes a long way.
· Check water sources daily – Make sure buckets and troughs aren’t freezing over. Hydration is just as important in cool weather!
· Watch feed changes. Gradually adjust grain or hay to match your horse’s energy needs as pasture quality declines.
· Keep footing safe- Mud, frost, and ice can create slippery conditions around the barn and paddock.
· Blanket wisely- Not every horse needs a blanket – consider coat thickness, weather, and shelter availability.
Consistent care and attention this time of year help keep your horse healthy and ready for the colder months ahead.
Enjoy the season, make memories, and remember – safety and comfort come first for our loyal companions.
